Gender-Affirming Care

Gender exploration can be joyful, confusing, liberating, terrifying, hilarious, grief-filled, deeply embodied, or somehow all of those things at once.

There is no single correct way to be trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, or gender-expansive.

Your gender belongs to you.

My role isn't to determine who you are. You are the expert on your own identity. My role is to offer a thoughtful, supportive space where you can explore what feels authentic, notice what brings you closer to yourself, and navigate the practical and emotional realities of becoming more fully you.

Gender-affirming therapy may include support around:

Names & pronouns
Exploring what feels right and navigating changes in different parts of your life.

Presentation & expression
Clothing, hair, makeup, voice, embodiment, and discovering what makes you feel more at home in yourself.

Medical transition
Processing hopes, fears, grief, excitement, uncertainty, and the emotional experience of navigating gender-affirming healthcare.

Social transition
Coming out, changing names or pronouns, navigating work and relationships, and building supportive community.

Gender euphoria
Not everything has to be about dysphoria. We can pay attention to what makes you feel more alive, more yourself, and more at home in your body.

Gender grief
Making room for complicated feelings about time, identity, relationships, missed experiences, or the life you imagined you would have.

Family & relationships
Navigating acceptance, rejection, boundaries, chosen family, and relationships that are changing alongside you.

A Therapy Space Where Your Lore Is Safe

You deserve a therapist who understands that your identity isn't a diagnosis.

You deserve a therapist who won't treat your queerness as something to overcome.

You deserve a therapist who can hold both the pain and the possibility.

And you deserve room to be complicated.

At Cosmic Mirror Wellness Collective, therapy is collaborative, person-centered, trauma-informed, existential, and affirming. I believe you possess innate wisdom about your own life, and I don't believe therapy should require surrendering your autonomy to someone with a degree on the wall.

You are not a problem waiting to be fixed. You're a person becoming. And becoming is messy. Beautiful. Terrifying. Liberating. Sometimes downright weird.

Your lore is safe with me.

There is nothing wrong with the version of you that finally wants to be free.

Maybe you're questioning your gender. Maybe you're coming out, transitioning, deconstructing, setting boundaries, rebuilding your relationship with your body, or simply trying to figure out who you are when you're no longer performing who everyone else expected you to be.

Maybe you're exhausted from explaining yourself.

Maybe you're tired of being told that your identity is a problem to solve.

It isn't.

At Cosmic Mirror Wellness Collective, I offer affirming, trauma-informed virtual therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults who want a place where they don't have to make themselves smaller, simpler, straighter, quieter, or more palatable to belong.

You get to bring your whole, wonderfully complicated self into the room.

Therapy for the beautifully complicated

I work with LGBTQIA+ adults navigating:

  • Coming out and identity exploration

  • Gender exploration and transition

  • Nonbinary and gender-expansive identities

  • Transgender and gender-diverse experiences

  • Family rejection or estrangement

  • Religious trauma and queer identity

  • Intergenerational trauma

  • Internalized shame and minority stress

  • Anxiety, depression, and burnout

  • Body image and body disconnection

  • Relationship and intimacy concerns

  • Grief and identity changes

  • Substance use and recovery

  • Boundaries and people-pleasing

  • Finding community and chosen family

  • Life transitions and the strange existential question of “Who am I now?”

You don't need to arrive with everything figured out.

That's part of what we're here to explore.

And yes, we can talk about
the weird stuff.

The existential stuff.

The family stuff.

The religious stuff.

The substance-use stuff.

The “What am I supposed to do with my life now that I've stopped pretending to be someone I'm not?” stuff.

Because identity doesn't exist in a vacuum.

For many LGBTQIA+ people, questions of identity intersect with family systems, religion, culture, trauma, addiction, relationships, bodies, work, grief, spirituality, and belonging.

Sometimes therapy means unpacking the messages you inherited about who you were supposed to be.

Sometimes it means grieving the people who couldn't come with you.

Sometimes it means figuring out how to build a life that actually fits.

And sometimes it means sitting across from another human being and saying:

“I don't know who I am anymore.”

And hearing:

“Okay. Let's figure it out.”

Virtual Therapy, Wherever You Are

Therapy doesn't have to mean fighting traffic, sitting in a waiting room, or rearranging your entire life to make it to an office.

Virtual therapy allows you to participate from a space where you feel comfortable and safe.

Come as you are.

Bring your coffee.

Bring your cat or dog (or heck, even your fish).

Bring your emotional support blanket.

Show up in sweatpants.

Or don't.

There is no performance requirement here.

I provide virtual therapy for eligible adults throughout North Carolina & South Carolina, allowing you to access affirming care without having to live right down the street from my office.
